Manufacturing Manager Senior
Essential Function: Manages and coordinates the activities of assigned value streams/and or manufacturing work cells in the production of company products by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Create and maintain a culture where workplace safety is a part of everything we do. Provide the safest possible workplace to our employees by modeling and following all company safety policies. Reporting any incidents or unsafe conditions immediately.Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of the Silfex Quality Management System and properly apply Quality Procedures and Operating Procedures as appropriate.Develop and adhere to standard operational and working practices (standard work) and continuously observe workers to ensure compliance with standards to currently established Process of Record (POR). Execute and model the Silfex Manufacturing System using Lean Manufacturing, 5S, 6 Sigma and other manufacturing strategies to achieve high levels of performance. Own the continuous improvement process for area of responsibility and ensure all employees are engaged in daily improvement activities.Provides strategic direction for value stream including long and short range resource planning (labor, equipment) to ensure effective and profitable line function, adjusting to changing customer or business needs as required.Monitors and reacts to financial and operational metrics. Provides reports and pro-actively escalates issues to senior management that may impact business objectives.Communicates with others across the organization to gain information and support, escalate issues, receive feedback and suggestions and provide updates and information.Executes the manufacturing schedules based on information and requirements from management and customer – reviews production orders, schedules, and pull signals to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan production. Ensures delivery of products on time, in accordance with quality standards, and at the lowest possible cost.Recruits, hires, trains staff, evaluates employee performance, and recommends or initiates promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.Coordinates training, develops and inspires team leads to develop high performance teams. Develops training needs matrices for proper tracking. Ensure OJT is standardized and results in increasing production efficiency and effectiveness.Analyzes and resolves work problems and assists employees in solving work problems.Conducts process confirmations to ensure standard work processes are being followed. Identifies and addresses non-compliance and lowered productivity, looking for continuous improvement opportunities.Assists and supports organization’s business strategy and organizational transformation and actively communicates with similar functions seeking out best practices.Complies, stores and retrieves production data.Providing direction and guidance on where to focus attention and improvement efforts.Identify training needs for direct reports. Develop training needs matrices for proper tracking. Establish training sessions for new employees and maximize production efficiency through training. Ensure that training is interactive and effective.Maintain and monitor inventory at established targets for all required manufacturing materials. Perform tasks/duties related to special projects or assignments.Perform other duties as assigned by management.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related discipline, with 8+ years’ experience in engineering management or production management. MBA is preferred.Ability to think strategically and develop operational plans. Working knowledge of business finance and ability to link financial outcomes with operations actions and strategy.Thorough working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement, experience leading operational transformation. Six Sigma Black Belt/Green Belt or AME Silver, or equivalent Lean Manufacturing Certification a plus.Experience presenting to large groups at all levels of the organization.Ability to lead and facilitate progressive change and deal effectively with all levels of management and in alignment with the Core Values.Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and assignments.Excellent organizational, communication and leadership skills. Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, verbally and in writing, to individuals at all levels and to cross-functional groups.Good working knowledge of computer applications such as ERP/MRP, outlook, excel and word.Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.Ability to define and solve technical problems.Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
